The new MST-3000VDR is also the largest rotary crawler dump truck in the United States. It recently went offline from the company's Ashland, Virginia plant and has a payload of 36,000 pounds. Morooka's VDR models all use rubber tracks and superstructures, which can be rotated 360 degrees in any direction independently of the chassis and tracks. "This helps users who want to reduce surface damage that occurs when turning the machine or users with limited operating space," the company said.

The MST-3000 was developed after contacting its Morooka dealer Anderson Equipment, a stream and wetland restoration company in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, requesting greater capacity than the MST-2200VDR, which has a payload of 24,000 pounds.

Morooka said it enhanced the hydraulic system and added power using a 300-hp Cat engine instead of the MST-2200's 250-hp Cat engine. "All of this power and carrying capacity have nearly doubled the speed at which Rosscapes moves the dirt," Morooka said, and the MST-3000VDR is currently only available via special orders.
